On October 20th, 2015, Dr. Edwin Ramirez will be presenting a seminar on “The Role
of da Vinci Robotic Surgery” for the treatment of endometriosis
as part of the 2015 Speaker Series hosted by the Community Memorial Health System.
Endometriosis is a common chronic disorder in which the tissue that lines
the uterus grows outside of the uterus. This disorder affects millions
of women in the United States and causes symptoms including heavy menstruation,
infertility, bowel movements, urination, and chronic pain, especially during intercourse.
Dr. Ramirez will be speaking on the
treatment options that are available to these women, including
laparoscopic and robotic-assisted surgery. He will be demonstrating how these options
can benefit patients with fewer risks and quicker recovery times. These
surgeries can involve fewer complications, including less pain and blood
loss, lower risks of infection and scarring, shorter hospital stays, and
an overall higher patient satisfaction.
The seminar will be held in the Nichols Auditorium on the 8th floor of the Community Memorial Hospital in Ventura from 6:00 p.m. to
8:00 p.m. You can register for this event by visiting the Community Memorial
Health System’s website.
